    Sterling Silver

    Silver 925, also known as sterling silver, is a popular and affordably priced silver alloy commonly used in jewelry making and silver items. This alloy contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals, often copper. It's the addition of another component, such as copper, that enhances the material's resistance and strength, which pure silver (999) lacks.

    Sterling silver, cherished for its luster and elegance, is an ideal choice for earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets. Silver 925 is often marked with a "925" or "Sterling" stamp, assuring its quality and authenticity.

     

    Gold Vermeil

    Gold Vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is a special style of gold plating the jewelry. Simply put, its is a sterling silver coated with a thick layer of gold. For a piece of jewelry to be called Gold Vermeil, it must meet several conditions that ensure its quality and differentiate it from ordinary gold-plated jewelry:

    • Base metal - the jewelry must have a base of high-quality silver, usually with a minimum fineness of 925/1000 (i.e., 92.5% silver).
    • Gold layer - a layer of gold is applied to the silver base. The purity of the gold must be of at least 10 karats. 
    • Gold layer thickness - the gold layer on the silver base must be sufficiently thick to meet vermeil standards. This layer must be at least 2.5 micrometers (0.0025 millimeters) thick, ensuring the jewelry's longevity and durability.
    • Nickel-free - to qualify as vermeil, the jewelry must not contain nickel coatings, which can cause allergic reactions in some people.

    • 3 microns thick layer of 18 karat Rose Gold - Rose gold is an alloy consisting of pure gold, copper, and possibly other metals, giving it a subtle pink hue.
